Lucy Taylor-Grime represented a delivery driver who had 3 separate sets of speeding offences before different Courts. He also had, at the time the offences were committed a total of 9 penalty points already on his licence.
The client accepted the speeding offences and having entered guilty pleas all matters were heard before Cannock Magistrates Court for an Exceptional Hardship Argument.
Lucy called the client in court to give evidence as to why he would suffer an exceptional hardship.
Having been persuaded by the client’s evidence in court and the arguments put forward by Lucy, the Court did find exceptional hardship and therefore did not disqualify the client even though he would have more than 12 points on his driving licence following sentence.
The client was extremely pleased with the result as it meant he kept not only his employment but also the home for his family.
