Lucy Taylor-Grime represented a single mother who was prosecuted for failing to stop and exchange details at the scene of a road traffic collision and failing to report the road traffic collision at North Staffordshire Justice Centre, Newcastle Under Lyme.
An eye witness had reported her to the Police stating he had seen her hit a parked car and drive off from a local car park leaving damage to the front of another vehicle.
The client, who was of good character and had never been before a court before, denied hitting any vehicle in the car park and had stated in interview that she did not had any damage to her vehicle and that she had not heard a loud bang as suggested by the eye witness.
In light of her instructions she was advised to enter a not guilty plea.
At trial our Lucy Taylor-Grime successfully argued that our client had no knowledge of this alleged incident. She did not have any damage to her vehicle and that she could not have reasonably been expected to have been aware of any collision.
The Court acquitted the client who was delighted with the result and was grateful for the representation and support given throughout her case.
