Road rage alleged aquitted

Lucy Taylor-Grime represented a client at Cannock Magistrates Court at trial in relation to allegations of driving without due care and attention, failing to report a road traffic collision, failing to stop at a road traffic collision and an allegation under Section 4a of the Public Order Act.  It was what the prosecution described as a road rage incident.

It was alleged by the prosecution that the client had driven his vehicle into another and caused damage.  Following which, it was alleged he pulled his vehicle to a nearby stopping place and brandished a baseball bat causing fear and intimidation to the complainant.

The case was listed for trial as the allegations were denied by the client.  Lucy had conduct of both the case preparation and the trial.  During the trial, the complainant witness was carefully cross-examined regarding the account given at the time of the alleged incident and his subsequent evidence in court.

The witness was further cross examined regarding the correctness of the identification and that the damage he alleged has been caused to his vehicle was inconsistent.

Lucy successfully defended the case and secured a not guilty verdict for our client due to the inconsistencies of the complainants account and lack of damage to the client’s vehicle.

The client was understandably delighted and relieved that this matter was found not guilty as the prosecution were portraying it as a road rage incident.
