Mark joined Sheppards in 1998 and is the Director of the company.
In 1999 he obtained The Law Society qualification as an Accredited Police Station Representative. Since that time he has continued to regularly represent and assist suspects interviewed under caution either at a Police Station or by other bodies with the power to interview under caution.
Admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court in 2002, Mark subsequently built a strong reputation for robustly defending clients before the Magistrates Courts and other tribunals. In 2004 accreditation was certified in the Law Society Criminal Litigation Accreditation Scheme as a duty solicitor.
Building up a strong caseload of defending serious offences, Mark became head of the Crown Court department and in 2008 obtained Higher Courts rights of audience. Since that time Mark appears daily before the Crown Court and additionally before the Court of Appeal (Criminal Division).
Mark is also a qualified barrister and member of Lincoln’s Inn (called 2015), however he currently holds a practising certificate as a solicitor and practices in the higher courts as a solicitor advocate.
Having amassed vast experience in all defence areas, Mark continues to robustly defend cases and has a firmly established highest reputation in the area. He has and continues to advise and represent clients before the Crown Courts in areas such as:
