Stephen joined the firm in November 2013 as an Assistant Solicitor with Higher Rights qualification and as a duty solicitor for both the Police Station and the Magistrates Court. He has previously worked at a law firm in Cannock and Rugeley.
Stephen graduated from Birmingham University with a law degree before completing his Law Finals at Guildford College of Law.
He was articled at Wragge and Co in Birmingham where his training was almost exclusively with a commercial bias.
After qualifying as a solicitor he left Wragge and Co and moved to Rugeley, Staffordshire to be part of a three-solicitor firm where he quickly acquired a taste and desire to practice solely in criminal law. Since 1995 he has worked solely as a criminal law solicitor.
In 1998 he became a duty solicitor and for many years was the administrator of the Rugeley and Cannock scheme responsible for appointment of solicitors to the scheme, dealing with complaints and disputes as well as drafting the duty solicitor rota for both the Court and Police Station schemes.
Stephen is experienced in Magistrates Court defence work having defended in a wide range of different matters. Recently Stephen has significantly expanded his practice area using his Higher Courts rights of audience to defend matters at the Crown Court.
He has also defended in Court Martial and other Military Tribunals including attendances before the Army Advocate General in London.
Stephen undertakes both legally aided and private client work.
