Stafford woman cleared of wounding with intent

A Stafford woman represented by Mark Nicholls stood trial at Stafford Crown Court accused of biting part of another woman’s ear off during an altercation in the street. The defendant was accused of the deliberate attack in May of 2016 in what was described by the prosecution as a revenge attack.

The defendant was accused of deliberately causing the other woman to fall to the ground before hitting the woman’s head a number of times on the ground, biting the cheek of the woman, then biting through the ear of the complainant.

The defendant denied the offence stating that the incident did not happen as alleged, that she had acted in self-defence throughout the incident and that the other woman had been the aggressor.

As part of the trial preparation process, Sheppards Solicitors were able to obtain evidence from a key independent witness who had not been spoken to by the police.

The jury took just 40 minutes to unanimously acquit the defendant of any wrongdoing during the incident.

Taking instruction on both private and public funded matters, Mark offers continuity of care throughout the entire period of time of representation.
